Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 oz packet active dry yeast
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup salted butter melted
  • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk room temp
  • 3 1/4 cups regular all purpose flour
  • cinnamon
  • organic cane sugar

  • 1 1/4 oz packet active dry yeast
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup salted butter melted
  • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk room temp
  • 3 1/4 cups regular all purpose flour
  • cinnamon
  • organic cane sugar
Instructions
  1. Follow joyful rolls dough recipe *linked below*
  2. After it rises and doubles in size, cut the dough into 6-8 even pieces
  3. Roll out each piece into a long rope and form each piece into a pretzel (make a horseshoe away from you, cross the ends twice and fold down towards you)
  4. Dissolve 1/3 cup baking soda into 2 cups hot water
  5. Dip each pretzel into the solution for 5-10 seconds (this is what gives it its signature pretzel texture)
  6. Place on a lined baking sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar topping
  7. Bake at 400F for 18-20 min (baking time will vary based on size of pretzel, watch carefully and take out when golden brown)
  8. Serve with a side of icing and enjoy!
