apple crisp

Spread out peeled and sliced apples in a baking dish (about 2 apples)
Sprinkle 1 tbsp organic cane sugar, squeeze juice from 1/2 a lemon and add 3 tbsp arrowroot powder on top and stir.
In a bowl, mix together 1 cup oats + 1 cup packed dark brown sugar + 1/2 cup flour + 1/2 cup softened butter
Sprinkle evenly over the fruit
Bake at 350F for 45 min or until fruit mixture is bubbling and the top is golden brown

Serve with your favorite ice cream 

(can easily double recipe and bake in a 9×13 dish instead)

  • Filling:
  • 2 apples thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • Juice from half a lemon
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot flour can sub cornstarch
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice can sub cinnamon
  • CRISP:
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 cup pecans crushed
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil

  • 2 apples thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp arrowroot flour can sub cornstarch
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice can sub cinnamon
  • CRISP:
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 cup pecans crushed
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Mix all filling ingredients in a bowl and pour into a small baking dish
  3. Add crisp ingredients to another bowl and mix
  4. Crumble over the apples
  5. Bake for 35-40 min or until filling is bubbling
