Caramel sauce:
heat 3/4 cup granulated sugar in a small pot over medium heat, it will begin to clump then melt into a golden liquid. make sure to stir frequently.
turn temp to low
stir in 4 tbsp melted butter + 1 tsp vanilla
mix in 1/3 cup milk of choice
remove from burner and let cool & thicken
Cookies:
cream together 1 cup softened butter + 1 cup granulated sugar + 1 tsp vanilla
whisk in 1 egg just until combined
add in 2 1/2 cup all purpose flour + 1/2 tsp baking powder + 1/2 tsp baking soda and mix
swirl in caramel sauce (don’t over mix to get the swirl look)
scoop on a lined baking sheet (makes 30 cookies)
bake at 375F for 12 min or until golden
