preheat oven to 400F
mix together 2 cups all purpose flour + 2 tsp baking powder + 1 tsp cinnamon + 1/2 cup granulated sugar in a mixing bowl
cut in 1/2 cup softened butter until crumbly (I use a pastry cutter)
measure out 1/2 cup milk of choice in a measuring cup and whisk in 1 tsp vanilla + 2 tbsp maple syrup + 1 egg
add into flour mixture and stir until a ball forms
place on a floured surface and knead with more flour if necessary 1 tbsp at a time
fold in 1 cup crushed pecans throughout
press down into a circle (about 12 in diameter)
cut into 8 equal pieces and place on a lined baking sheet
bake for 20 min
glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon + 1 tbsp maple syrup + 1-2 tbsp milk of choice
