SEATTLE

Posted on April 11, 2019May 8, 2019 by Melika

There’s nothing like stepping out of SeaTac airport and breathing in that fresh crisp air! We vacationed in Seattle for a week in early April and loved every minute of it! We ate at the yummiest restaurants, visited nearly every coffee shop in the city and explored as much as we could in the short time we had. While we were there I got so many requests for a list of need-to-go places so here’s my Seattle trip round up.

Air BnB

We decided to stay in an air bnb for our stay. It was located in West Seattle and I definitely recommend staying in this part of the city because it was away from downtown traffic and from other busy parts of the city. It was just a short drive over the West Seattle bridge to anywhere we wanted to go to! Our place was also just a short walk to Alki beach where we walked every night watching the sunset.

FOOD

Blue Moon Burger– impossible burger, tater tots, short walk from our air bnb and overlooking Alki

Duke’s Seafood- James says it was the best clam chowder he’s ever had! also a short walk from air bnb and on Alki Beach

Cactus- Mexican food right on Alki

Deru Market- woodfire pizza, large selection of cookies, local/organic/fresh ingredients (Kirkland)

Homegrown- fresh salads, sandwiches and soups. I got the matcha avocado chicken salad and it was delicious!

Oddfellows Cafe- avocado toast, homemade biscuits, espresso drinks (downtown)

Portage Bay- best breakfast of your life! Breakfast bar with local fresh fruit and all the best toppings. I got the vegan GF banana pancakes  + a side of eggs (North Seattle)

Pressed Juicery- FREEZE of course and wellness shots!

MATCHA/COFFEE

Olympia Coffee

Real Fine Coffee

West Seattle Grounds- yummy matcha latte w/almond milk

Top Pot Donuts- short walk from the air bnb on Alki

Atulea– a place solely dedicated to matcha

THINGS TO DO

Pike Place Market- farmers market, fish throw, fresh fruit/veggies, cute shops, first Starbucks

Gum Wall

Aquarium

Melrose Market- cutest little shops

Starbucks Roastery- we ordered the origin flight and got to try 3 different types of coffee paired with a truffle

City Sweats- lymphatic drainage & infrared sauna. So so relaxing!

Gas Works Park- the movie “10 things I hate about you” was shot here! Beautiful view of the city

Rattlesnake Ledge- one of my favorite things we did! Hike was definitely rough but the view was breathtaking

Things on our list we didn’t have enough time to get to:

Space Needle

West Seattle Farmer’s Market on Sunday

Frankie & Jo’s

Juicebox Cafe

Seawolf Bakery (fresh baked sourdough)!!

Salty’s on Alki

I hope this was helpful for anyone wanting to visit Seattle! Don’t let the rain push you away! 🙂
