preheat oven to 350F
crust:
mix together 1/2 cup softened butter + 1/4 cup brown sugar + 1 tsp vanilla + 1 cup all purpose flour
press into a lined 8×8/9×9 dish
bake for 10 min
filling:
mix together 1 15 oz can pumpkin purée + 1/3 cup maple syrup + 2 eggs + 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
pour over baked crust
bake for another 45 min
let cool for 1 hour to set before cutting
